More about Hannah

Hannah graduated with honors from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. She earned her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from a CACREP accredited program also at Texas State University. She is licensed and qualified to counsel in the state of Texas through the Department of State Health Services.

Hannah began her counseling career in 2006, while interning at the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Shelter, supporting survivors of abuse.  She continued her counseling career at Commitment to Change, an inpatient drug treatment program within Travis State Jail. She is a passionate advocate for families facing domestic violence, sexual abuse and addiction. Hannah seeks to stop the cycle of abuse and addiction using cognitive behavioral therapy.

As a Registered Play Therapist, Hannah reaches children using their natural language of play.  She continues to be fascinated by the transformative powers of play therapy, sandtray therapy and other expressive art therapy techniques.  Counseling and creative expression have always been a natural combination for Hannah. She explored the healing power of art while co-leading children’s groups along with a Registered Art Therapist for the Deep Eddy Mural Project. Hannah spent 4 years volunteering with Hospice Austin’s Camp Brave Heart, providing creative counseling to children recovering from grief and loss. While in private practice, Hannah helps her clients heal and grow through creative expressive therapies.

Currently Hannah is owner and creator of Happy Camper Counseling, Austin’s first and only Airstream counseling office. There she provides mental health services to children, teens and adults. In her free time, Hannah enjoys nature walks, travel and photography. Hannah has lived in Austin for over 25 years and truly loves her community. She is dedicated to making Austin a better place through psycho-education and counseling.
